Caveman movie rec - Quest for Fire. It might be the obvious choice and I don't think the anthropology holds up but its very artistically bold. From the director of The Name of the Rose adaptation and Enemy at the Gate.
Also if you want a Godzilla fast track you know plenty of folks, including myself. My all-killer no filler list would include Ghidora the Three Headed Monster, Destroy All Monsters, Return, vs Biollante, Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, and the most recent two Shin Godzilla and Godzilla Minus One
I’ve been meaning to watch Quest for Fire for a while now. It seems great. I might try to watch it in the next week or two.
Also I may use this fast track list lol. I made a giant Letterboxd list of every Godzilla movie that I was determined to work through but usually when I do that I burn out about a 1/4 of the way through lol so this short list is probably a smarter move
Yeah, I tried to give a good sampling of all the different eras to make it easier to jump back in anywhere you'd like. Especially in the original Toho era, there are some real stinkers. That'll happen when you more or less put out a movie every year for 13 years
